Zombie Air Force Upgrade Tree: Access and Earned Upgrades
Find the Little Bird Armoury tree, distinguish aircraft passes from earned upgrades and keep purchases tied to one progression goal.
The Zombie Air Force upgrade tree is earned progression, even when an aircraft pass unlocks the aircraft instantly. For the Little Bird, upgrades belong to its Armoury tree; the Grimhawk pass also leaves its upgrade tree to be earned in game.
This introduction shows the gameplay that sits around those progression decisions.
An aircraft unlock is not an upgraded aircraft
A pass can remove an access requirement without completing the tree attached to that aircraft. The Little Bird unlock has no level or Credits requirement, while Grimhawk access does not require Credits, medals or honors. Those statements describe getting the aircraft.
After access, the earned tree remains a separate part of play. Keep that distinction in mind if you are considering a purchase because progression feels slow: the pass description promises an unlock, not every improvement afterward.
Find the tree belonging to your aircraft
For the Little Bird, use its Armoury tree as the upgrade destination. Keep the aircraft identity in view while deciding what to develop. A minigun, rocket pods and a cluster launcher are part of its loadout, but the presence of those weapons does not mean buying access purchases every upgrade related to them.
| Aircraft | Access benefit | What remains |
|---|---|---|
| Little Bird | Immediate unlock without a level requirement or Credits. | Earn upgrades through its Armoury tree. |
| ZA-6 Grimhawk | Unlock without Credits, medals or honors. | Earn its upgrade tree in game. |
Browsing a branch is also different from owning a purchase. Before spending, connect the selected upgrade to the aircraft or tool you mean to use. Read the displayed requirement and effect at the purchase point rather than treating a visible node as an automatic unlock.
Follow one progression goal through the tree
Choose a goal for the next session before buying across multiple branches. If you want to fly the Little Bird with friends in its door gunner seats, develop that aircraft around the crew session you are planning. If the ZA-6 is your main aircraft choice, keep your earned progression focused there first.
An editorial starting rule is to avoid dividing an early Credits balance among tools you rarely use. Make one purchase connected to your next battle, then save toward the next relevant step. That gives your progression a purpose without requiring a fixed list of invented node names or prices.
Use the upgrade order guide for early spending priorities, or the upgrade overview to compare the systems you can choose to develop.
